I've always been attracted by sparkly things and I've been wanting some gold mica flakes for a long time. They are expensive. I finally caved in and bought some. No regrets! This is my first experiment with them. I love the way they look on paper altered with Citra-Solv.

Beautiful illo! I'm very intrigued by the use of Citra-Solv. Does it act as sort of a mild acid?

Thanks for your comment Michelley! I'm not certain exactly how Citr-Solv works. It's a natural environmently friendly cleaning product. You paint it, or spray it on National Geographics and then close the pages, squish, and wait about 20 minutes. The citra-solv disolves the ink and moves it around so when you open the pages you have weird and wonderful images which you then remove from the magazine and let dry. There's a how-to video on their web site.

I am not usually a fan of using chemicals in mixed media, but the effects you are achieving is propelling me to try.
