"Only old ladies paint flowers" is something Becky said to me several years ago and now whenever I paint flowers I can't help but think of it. Last week was my birthday and the weather has been so grey and rainy and I've been so tired that I thought maybe I was an old lady. After a good sleep, I've decided that I'm not an old lady and I don't plan on being one until I'm at least 95. So I painted more flowers and Becky likes them. Mostly I think that flowers are a great idea when you want to watch wet paint swirl around in wet paint and then wonder what to do with it. If you are reading this and you consider yourself to be old and a lady, you may have the ability to paint wonderful flowers. Thanks to Judy Livingston's good advice I'm going to try acrylics in the fall, if I can get myself enrolled. That should be fun!
