SPOOKY

ghost girl
Poor Catherine Howard, the fifth wife of Henry VIII.  She married him when she was just 19 and he was thirty years older.  Young and pretty, naive in the ways of the court, she had little chance of survival.  She was beheaded on February 13th 1542 at the Tower of London and is said to haunt it to this day.

Creating a "Spooky" mixed media piece is the challenge for the Melange Team this month and so here is my spooky image of the ghost of Catherine Howard.  You can see more wonderful and spooky art at the Melange Team Blog!

I love this piece. The colours are amazing and you have great movement, I can almost feel her rushing by. T. :)

Oops! Pushed enter to soon.

Spooky and beautiful at the same time. I love the richness of this piece and it makes the ghostly image even ghostlier!

This reminds me of something else I've seen. I can't remember if it was an older blog post from you or somewhere else... but I like it :)

You're right Nikkie, I had this picture in an earlier blog post but it looked a little different. To make the image "spookier" I bumped the contrast way up with GIMP. It's a great way to make it more ghostly:)

Hi Laurel,
This is an exquisite "spooky" piece--and I love the colors...they are so rich! And the story is so interesting too!
