Swarm - Illustration Friday

I made this with my favorite Citra-Solv paper and some real dragonfly wings that I found while walking in the woods last summer.  Two wings were just lying on the path.  I have no idea what happened to the other two.  The wings are now encased in acrylic medium, so they should remain protected forever.

You may be wondering why this is a swarm?  It is a swarm of memories.  Sometmes I find I'm overtaken by them.  Are memories real or not real?  They only exist in our heads.  It's a facinating question.

Great piece & fun find!

I love this week's prompt - have to pop over & see what everyone else is up to.

What a cool way to preserve dragonfly wings! I love the colors and textures of this piece, and I know exactly what you mean by being overtaken by "a swarm of memories."

This is lovely, really.

My sisters and I have a tough time with memories because we've all had different experiences even though we had the same parents.
They used to accuse me of making things up until I pointed out the above fact.

Just because we've had different experiences doesn't mean it didn't happen. Really heavy stuff sometimes, sorry!

I do love this piece.

Real wings? huhh. Super. My children always bring a lot of treausres like pigeon fether, stones, leaves, but I don't take these to my shelf of memory, because we have no shelf of memory. :-) We have no place for treasures. :-( Just for their first hair, teeth, shoes...

But this illo is fantastic! I will find place for the treasures like wings. :-)
