As far back as I can remember I've been happiest when I'm out in the woods, following one trail or another, or making my own.  Today the sun was dazzling and all the colours were so bright they were almost glowing.  In the winter, the world becomes much more monochromatic.   I love all the seasons, but when you live in Canada, you really appreciate weather like this!

What a wonderful painting! The colors are marvelous. I'd love to be wandering in that setting.

This is LOVELY! I'm a big fan of bright colours and I love the depth you've captured with your mark making.

Hi Laurel,
Thanks for your kind comment on my blog. I'm so glad you left one because now I've seen your blog. Your paintings are beautiful with great splashes of color and contrasts! (I'm a big fan of tree images. :-)) I also really like your painting for last week's "Early." It reminds me of home in Ohio.

All the best,
Melissa

I was born and raised in the city, so woods are pretty foreign to me. I mean, I've been camping and whatnot, but it's just not the same as being surrounded by it daily. I would like to experience it some day because I do love all the pretty inspirational artwork that comes from them like this one. :)
